Homeopathy for a wart on the thumb

Wondering about homeopathy for a wart on the thumb?  or a verruca on your big toe?  Read on to hear from people who have tried it.

What is a wart?

Warts are lumps that appear on the skin and are caused by a virus.  They usually feel a bit rough and may look like a blister or more like a cauliflower.  They can be small or large and may occur in clusters.  The hands, face, knees and feet are common locations.  On the soles of the feet, they are called verrucas (also known as plantar warts) and you may be able to see black dots underneath the thickened skin.

Warts are generally harmless but may linger for years.  As they are unsightly and sometimes painful (especially verrucas), people often want to get rid of them faster.

Treatment

Conventional treatments include over the counter products to apply to the wart or, if these fail, freezing, laser treatment or minor surgery.  These methods can cause scarring or skin burns and the warts may just return anyway.

Furthermore, as warts are due to a virus, their appearance may indicate a lowered immune system (especially in the case of adults with multiple warts).  Just applying something externally to the warts or cutting or burning them out does not correct the underlying weakness and so, from a homeopathic viewpoint, it is not surprising if they return.

Homeopathic treatment approaches the problem more broadly and aims to address the underlying imbalance.  This is generally achieved by using internal remedies matched to the individual person.

Martin’s story: Homeopathy for a wart on the thumb

Martin came to see me about a wart on his thumb which he had had on and off for 3 years.  He had tried topical applications, had it frozen several times and then tried painful laser treatment but it just kept returning.

2 weeks after starting his homeopathic remedies, a delighted Martin emailed me:

“I am very pleased to say that the wart on my thumb is already healing and drying out!! I am really so happy to have some progress after 9 months of having to cover my thumb constantly.  Thank you so much for the remedies they must be exactly right for me to see a result so quickly.”

If it is a verruca that is troubling you, you might like to read this other recent feedback:

“I had a persistent verruca on my toe which was horrible to look at and was painful when running. I decided to give homeopathy a go and started taking the remedy Gill suggested- within a day or two the verruca started drying out and in around a week it had completely vanished.”
