I take the privacy rights of my patients very seriously. This privacy policy sets out how I deal with your ‘personal information’, that is, information that could identify, or is related to the identity of, an individual.

What personal information do I collect?

In order to treat you, I will ask you to provide certain information. This includes name, gender, date of birth, address, email address, telephone number and medical history.
To this, over time, I will add details of the conditions for which you have consulted me and the remedies and other therapies that I have prescribed or recommended.

How do I collect this personal information?
All the information collected is obtained directly from you. I collect some of this before your first consultation by means of online forms. As part of this, I will also request that you provide consent for me to store and use your data. Your consent is required in order to ensure my compliance with data protection legislation. Subsequently, I will add to this initial information with details of the consultations you hold with me.

Personal data is kept for the following purposes:
I use your personal information to analyse the conditions for which you have consulted me and to prescribe remedies and other therapies. In addition, I use:
Contact details- for matters relating directly to treatment (e.g. sending prescriptions, communicating about appointments and discussing progress). I may communicate with you by email, other digital methods, by telephone and by post.
Email addresses – with explicit consent these are also kept for sending out email newsletters
Payment records – are kept for accounting purposes

How personal data is stored
Information is stored electronically using modern software with appropriate security.
Email addresses for newsletters are stored in Mailchimp.
Hand-written consultation notes are stored securely.
I take steps to protect your personal information against loss or theft, as well as unauthorised access, disclosure, copying or modification.

Retention Policy
As a registered homeopath, I am obliged to store records as follows:

For adults: for 7 years after the latest consultation

For children under 18 when treated: for 7 years after their 18th birthday
After this time, your details are securely destroyed.

With whom do I share your personal information?
Access to your contact details will be limited to people who need access so they can contact you about appointments.
I may also use your contact details in third party software for purposes including booking appointments and posting prescriptions.
I do not share your other personal information unless required to do so by an order of court or other legal authority or if it is necessary in the public interest.

How your information can be updated or corrected
To ensure that I have accurate and up-to-date information, please inform me of any changes you believe I should make to the personal information I hold. You can do this by contacting me by email (see below).
Under data protection legislation, you have the right to inspect the personal information I hold about you. You can make a request to do so by contacting me and I will endeavour to respond within 14 working days.
